Superkids Holiday Programme
SuperKids operates Tuesday - Friday for one week of each school holidays. Catering for children aged 6 to 12 years. There's heaps to do including riding in the Super Car, the vintage fire engine, go- carts, face painting, woodwork, crafts, cooking, music, bouncy castle, horizontal bungy... Cost $8.00 per child per day.

Tributes paid to Elim Pastor
Too young, too soon - that is the response from friends
and work colleagues to the death of Elim Centre associate
Pastor Kevin Simmonds. He was 55.
Mr.Simmonds was expected to fully recover from a
mild stroke he had a couple of weeks ago, but instead
died after another “huge stroke” about midnight on
Monday, said Elim Pastor Tom Hatch.
Mr Hatch and Elim Administrator Sonia Cowie described
Mr Simmonds as “an amazing guy” and “more like a brother
than a work mate”.
“His death is a big loss for the Church, but also a big loss
for the community”.
Twelve years ago Mr Simmonds set up the Superkids
holiday programmes at Elim and it proved popular with
children outside the church circle and even beyond the
boundaries of Blenheim or Marlborough.
“The kids came from as far north as Levin and Hamilton
and some families came from Christchurch” Mrs Cowie said.
The pastoral care of children and families was Mr Simmonds’
responsibility at Elim and programmes were designed to meet
the interests of different age groups. He always managed to
match the never ending energies of children.
“He was the oldest kid in the building” said Mr Hatch.
